Fruits and vegetables are delicious. We can't live without them. But they haven't always looked the way they do today.
That's because long before modern genetic modification techniques were invented, humans were carefully selecting the sweetest, juiciest, or tastiest crops and breeding them over thousands of years. The process gave us everything from bright-red, seedless watermelons to soft, juicy corn.
